Lorenzo attends children’s hospital unit opening

Jorge Lorenzo was in Barcelona on Monday opening a special hospital unit which carries his name and specialises in helping children with cancer.

Fiat Yamaha’s Spanish star Jorge Lorenzo was at the Hospital Universitario Vall d’Hebron in Barcelona on Monday, where he attended the opening of a specialist unit bearing his name, where children suffering with cancer are cared for.

Also in attendance at the hospital, where Lorenzo hosted a press conference, were Dr. Sánchez Toledo (Head of the pediatric specialist unit), Sergi Pastor (Scalextric & Tecnitoys representative), Marina San-Martín (Ànima Fundación Director) and Mónica Revilla (PlayStation PR), all of whom are also involved in the project.

Speaking about his work with the unit Lorenzo commented, “When you come to a place like this you realise that life is not always as fair as we want it to be. Some children suffer a lot with their health and to be able to give a little bit of time to them, to try and motivate them is a good thing to do.”

Asked about his expectations for Le Mans, after his Jerez disappointment, Lorenzo stated, “The last race was obviously very difficult for us and with the crash I have been thinking about it a lot. It will be important to get a good result at Le Mans and to put the last round behind us.”
